Each one of us is very conscious about their teeth. If we have stained teeth it feels like or it is sort of embarrassing and most often we avoided smiling. Having a perfect white smile is a dream of each one of us. Not only that we want to have bright white teeth but also it shows that our teeth are strong and has low possibility of having tooth decay and gum diseases. In today's trend teeth whitening have become very popular teenagers and adult alike. Each one wants to have an impressive bright smile.

Tooth bleaching, also known as tooth whitening, is a common procedure in general dentistry but most especially in the field of cosmetic dentistry. Many people consider white teeth to be an attractive feature of a smile. A child's deciduous teeth are generally whiter than the adult teeth that follow. As a person ages the adult teeth often become darker. This darkening is due to changes in the mineral structure of the tooth, as the enamel becomes less porous. Teeth can also become stained by bacterial pigments, foodstuffs and tobacco.

Everybody loves a bright white smile, and there are a variety of products and procedures available to help you improve the look of yours.

How much whiter will my teeth look?
This varies from individual to individual and also the type of whitening system used. Some people respond very well to teeth whitening and have dramatic whitening results whereas others may notice very little difference at all. Your dentist will be able to advise you on the likely results expected with your teeth.

Is it really safe for me to whiten my own teeth?
Absolutely! Whitening teeth is perfectly safe.

What is in-office/in-clinic bleaching?
If you are a candidate for bleaching, we suggest a procedure that can be done in our clinic. This procedure is called chairside bleaching and may require more than one office visit. Each visit may take from 30 minutes to one hour.
During chairside bleaching, we will apply either a protective gel to your gums or a rubber shield to protect the oral soft tissues. A bleaching agent is then applied to the teeth, and a special light may be used to enhance the action of the agent. Lasers have been used during tooth whitening procedures to enhance the action of the whitening agent.
